Adrenal insufficiency

Hypofunction of the adrenal glands is know as Addison's disease when there is not cause. More common causes include starting stopping corticosteroid medication and malfunction of the pituitary gland. 

Diagnosis

The inital test for adrenal glad insuffiency is a serum cortisol level drawn in the morning.
